Montanyans
A few kilometres from Vilafranca, surrounding the hermitage from which its name is taken, is the Montanyans estate. There, rooted in the calcareous, clayey soil, grow different varieties of red grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tempranillo, and the prestigious white Chardonnay grape. The scarce rainfall of this area is made up for by its southern orientation, facing the Mediterranean, allowing the grapevines to take advantage of the summer dew, perfectly completing the growth cycle of the grapes. To favour this perfect ripening of the grapes even more, all of the grapevines on land belonging to Bodegas Pinord are trained, in order to take advantage of our most valuable treasure, the sun.

El Serral
Very close to Montanyans is the El Serral estate, where traditional varieties such as Penedès, Macabeo, Xarel.lo, and Parellada are grown in calcareous, clayey soil, along with an Alsatian variety of white grape called Gewürztrammner. This variety, first planted experimentally, has shown over time a perfect harmony with our climate and soil, and this, along with an aroma and taste that are both exclusively its own, has convinced us to plant a lot of it. This estate completes its exclusive dedication to the varieties of white grape with the Muscat, which yields the sweet Muscatel grape.

Coll de Bou
To the north of Vilafranca, but facing south, which allows us to take better advantage of the hours of sunlight, is the Coll de Bou estate; the predominant variety of grape on this land is Merlot, although a significant portion of the land is designated as a research laboratory, as this is where our enologists are constantly experimenting with different varieties of vines, checking their adaptation to our climate and their qualitative yield. The fruit of this labour is the possibility of growing varieties that are not indigenous to the area, such as the aforementioned Gewürztraminer, allowing us a spectrum of aromas and flavours for the making of our wines that is much wider, as well as the possibility of offering a line of single-variety wines.

Mas Blanc
Finally, near Bellmunt del Priorat, within the D.O. Priorat, Bodegas Pinord owns the Mas Blanc estate. Here, the varieties grown are Cabernet Souvignon, Syrah, Merlot, and the one traditional to the area, Garnatxa. The vines are planted in terraces, in slaty soil called "licorella". This estate has height differences of over one hundred metres, giving it amphitheatres of unique beauty. Due to the lay of the land, almost all of the work must be done manually, and although this implies a notable increase in cost, this is made up for by the undeniable quality of the grapes obtained. The dry climate of the country, selective pruning in the winter, and green pruning during the summer make the harvest balanced, allowing the obtaining of full-bodied wines, and a structure that is hard to find in other locations. But Bodegas Pinord goes even further in its attempt to respect nature and what it offers us, growing grapes organically. This calls for the exclusive and regulated use of natural products in the growing of the grapes, and the absolute prohibition of the use of any type of herbicide. So, from the vineyard located on the Mas Blanc estate itself is obtained an excellent organic red Priorat wine.
